River

River co-founded TFE in 2012. They are a carpenter, with a specific interest in fine joinery, artistic fabrication and guitar building. They are currently undertaking an MA in Fine Art, consult on the Master of Architecture course at the Centre of Alternative Technology, and previously worked as a Sculptor Tutor (wood) at Goldsmiths University, London.
ASH
(They/Them)
Ash trained in hand crafted wood work in West Sussex. They have worked for many years in sustainable building and timber framing in Brighton. Ash is currently working as a joiner/ builder, developing a Queer community space in London.
Mads
(She/They)
Mads has been a carpenter for 10 years and specialises in set builds and playscapes. Mads explores carpentry in sculptural forms - both in theatre and public space. Mads has been a workshop facilitator for several years, worked on major theatrical tours, as a wood fabrication tutor at Goldsmiths university and most recently for Xylotek.
Libby
(She/Her)
Libby co-founded HOLDFAST in 2012. She works as a carpenter and maker, specialising in set building and puppetry. Libby also worked as a workshop assistant at City of Bristol College, and as Workshop Manager at the Bristol Wood Recycling Project. Libby currently studies on a BA fine Art at Bath University.
Alex
(They/Them)
Alex trained in Bench Joinery and cabinet making at the Building Crafts College. They went on to be employed by a highly specialist timber construction company Xylotek, working on some of the most advanced structures in timber technology today. They have specialist skills in joinery and steam bending.
Charley
(She/Her)
Charley has trained in carpentry since 16 and is now proficient in may forms of carpentry and joinery. She is knowledgeable in both wood design, and making, as well as sustainable building practice. Charley currently has run a set building company, and completed several truck/camper conversions.
