ENZO MARI furniture making course (CHAIR BUILD) - EASTER WEEKEND - 19TH/20TH/21ST APRIL
Join us for a three day beginner-friendly chair-making course this Easter Bank Holiday! Whether you're new to woodworking or looking to build your confidence with tools, this is the perfect opportunity to expand your skills.
Our courses are intended to support those with minority identity within the trades/construction/craft environments.
We will be creating a chair inspired by Italian designer Enzo Mari. Mari designed a collection of furniture using materials easily found at your local DIY store. Coming from a communist background, Mari aimed to empower people by giving them the tools to take control of their own furniture production. His designs are meant to inspire anyone to take the first step into woodworking.
By the end of the course, you will have made youre own chair to take home, and you’ll be ready to create other pieces from Mari's collection, including tables, shelves, wardrobes, and benches. We will also cover finishing techniques (such as oils and paints) and explore different types of fixings (nails, screws, etc.).
Come and take the first step towards mastering the art of furniture making!
